I demand the foul creature responsible for this demented illusion reveal itself at once!

[Because he has no idea what's going on. Help. Please someone help. What is this? Why is that woman claiming to be his mother?]

For you see, while your powers of obfuscation are almost impressive, they mean nothing to a being such as myself!

[Translation: something weird is going on, and he noticed that. Which he already made clear with the previous sentence, so he's just sort of repeating himself. Because he needs to stress how weird this is and at the same time act like it's not.]

Therefore, I, Gundam Tanaka, demand you reveal yourself so that we may do battle on a scale that brings the very foundation of this world to its knees! Appear before me so that I may crush you as a demonstration to the astounding creature I have just received!

[In other words, he just got a Pokemon. And he has no idea what it is, but throwing an untrained animal into a chaotic situation is just asking for trouble.]

I guess I will! But for your question, no one really knows. I have my theories, like the transition from our world to this world removes our powers. Or a legendary Pokemon's influence was responsible for it. I think whatever it is, it did it to make all of us somewhat equal.

Good luck with that! It's pretty hard to find a legendary and they are very powerful. So even if you find them, your team needs to be up to par.

[He doesn't really think there's anyone who can actually beat a legendary in battle. It's not like in the games where stats and mechanics make it possible.]

Seriously? Dude, Gundam is the biggest and longest running mecha anime in the world. Robots with laser guns and swords. In space.

Right-o! Well, there are, like, a ton of different Pokemon out there, so you should catch a lot! I think you can keep six with you, but they're all different types... you know, elements! And they like fighting, but it's not really intense duel to the death kinds of things so you don't have to worry about 'em too much. They'll just keep on trucking!

Perhaps I underestimated you! If you truly did battle with such a fearsome creature and lived to tell the tale, then perhaps there is more to you than meets the eye.

Right on. This should be a no brainer, but I'd recommend a well balance team at first. At least so you can have a good type coverage against whichever legendary you fight against.
